The activity started at 9: 05 AM of September 02, 2019 at the hospital auditorium. Master of Ceremonies were Ms. Eileen Marcelo, Supervising Administrative Officer assigned at the Procurement Office, and Ms. Mila Reyes, Administrative Officer III of the Public Assistance and Complaint Unit. Ms. Melinda Cando, Nurse II, led the Doxology, National Anthem, and the singing of the Department of Health and the Caloocan City Hymn. Dr. Dave Elvin G. Sanchez, the hospital’s Chief of Medical Professional Staff gave the opening remarks, welcoming the guests from the different units and offices of the hospital, as well as the attendees from the communities and Local Government Units. Ms. Eileen Marcelo made a brief presentation of the hospital’s history, discussing its development from its beginnings up to its present status as a Medical Center.

79th Foundation Week: From Sanitaria to Medical Center

Last May 14-17, 2019, the Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital celebrated its 79th foundation week with the Department of Dermatology serving as this year’s host. This year’s theme was Evolution: From Sanitaria to Medical Center. The week long celebration started with the opening of the hospital exhibit. The ribbon cutting ceremony was led by Dr. Dave Elvin Sanchez, Chief of Medical Professional Services and Engr. Nilo C. Marayag, Chief Administrative Officer.
The exhibit highlighted the many services offered by the various departments of the hospital. This was followed by a lecture given by Frederica Veronica Marquez-Protacio, MD, DPDS, Chair of the Department of Dermatology on the Challenges of Leprosy which was well attended by the medical clerks.
